There
is no doubt in my mind that True Blood season 4 DVD is developing it's die-hard cult fans even
as I write this.
True
blood series features supernatural characters. Sookie Stackhouse is the show's
main character. Besides being a waitress at the local bar she is also a mind
reader. So, she does not feel like she can connect with normal humans. She ends
up getting involved with the vampire, Bill Compton. As the main characters
develop their relationship, the viewer can see into the world of vampires and
the supernatural.
The arty
filming of the supernatural was also a big misstep. Sookie can hear people's
thoughts, which should be compelling. But due to the jumpy filming and
overlapping sound editing, it just falls flat. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
perfectly nailed the tone of a show like this. It was funny and scary while
True Blood is neither.
